Thank you for many happy hours of puzzling. George, now aged 76 has heart problems (4 heart attacks) and rests a great deal. I put up my little folding table, get out my books and spend a most pleasant afternoon or evening puzzling.

I use a Miriam-Webster Crossword Reference, a Collins dictionary and a set of three very very old huge Webster dictionaries. I do try to solve the clue first on my own. Fortunately my spelling is very good, I came second in a competition for Northern Ireland when younger.

Lovatts give us ‘addicts’ a lovely choice. I’ve started doing BIG which I love, Starhunts are my favourite puzzle, the big Starhunt in Holiday has never been a challenge to me, but the ones in BIG without any letters are! I love Acrostics too, but seldom get all the Cryptic out. I wish I could.

I’m looking forward to BIG next Thursday, oh and Mega, and Holiday in June. They all keep me happy and busy.
