About Sudoku

Sudoku is the best fun your brain can have. It is simple to learn, but the challenges are endless. A Sudoku puzzle consists of 81 squares divided into nine 3 x 3 blocks. Some of the squares have given numbers. Generally, the quantity of given or pre-filled numbers varies across the different difficulty levels: easy, medium, hard, or difficult. The only thing you need to solve a Sudoku puzzle is logic. You don’t need any mathematical knowledge.

How to play online Sudoku

To solve a Sudoku puzzle you have to use the numbers 1-9 to fill in the blank spaces so that each row, each column and each 3 x 3 block has all the numbers 1-9 appearing once. Utilise your logic skills to strategically place the missing numbers to achieve a complete grid.

For assistance in solving an online Sudoku puzzle, utilise the pencil feature to temporarily mark or ‘pencil in’ potential numbers for any cell. Simply click/tap the Pencil Icon to reveal the practise-number panel and use the number panel or your device’s keyboard to note one or more potential numbers. Once you’ve determined the number you feel is correct, simply click/tap the Pencil Icon again to switch to the correct-number panel to input the number within that square.

When you have correctly completed a line, column, or a 3 x 3 block, it will be highlighted, and any practise numbers will disappear.

5 Solving Tips for Sudoku Beginners

1. Scan the puzzle for easy number placements

Begin by scanning the puzzle; you may immediately spot where a particular number goes. Look for areas with more given numbers in a 3 x 3 block or a nearly complete row or column.

2. Focus on one blank cell at a time

Concentrate on one blank cell at a time. Scan its row, column, and block. Eliminate numbers that already appear, narrowing down possibilities. If only one number is missing in a sequence, fill it into the space.

3. Scan the Sudoku for pairs

Search for pairs of numbers in rows, columns, and blocks to identify where a number is missing.

4. Make notes using the Pencil feature

When tackling online Sudoku or harder puzzles, use the puzzle’s pencil feature to note possible numbers. By doing this in all blank squares, you’ll soon identify where a particular number must be the answer.

5. Avoid guessing, eliminate possibilities

Sudoku puzzles require careful and logical thinking and rely on the process of elimination rather than guesswork to reach the solution. As you fill in the numbers, you eliminate the possibilities available to fill in other spaces. Continue this process until every square is filled, ensuring that columns, rows, and 3 x 3 blocks all contain the numbers 1-9. Keep our Sudoku tips above in mind to enhance your solving strategy.
